1. RAJINI

Having just celebrated his 60th birthday, the Superstar is in no mood to slow down. His latest movie Endhiran is a testimony to this fact. With such an abundance of energy and dedication shown in the movie, he is no wonder, the toast of the crowd. Being a veteran in Kollywood, he is being looked at, by many, as an idol. Needless to say that his global image got bigger with Endhiran! What would be his next movie? Now that’s a million dollar question.

2. KAMAL

A man with ten faces, quite literally, when you count the different aspects of filmmaking he knows and contributes too. If Dasavatharam showed him in ten different avatars, his other movies project his various other talents too. A dream for every producer, Kamal's latest movie Manmadhan Ambu will please his audiences to no end. Least to say that his movies maintain a buzz right from the time it is announced.

3. SURIYA

Suriya stunned audiences when he transformed himself from playing a hunchback in Perazhagan to an angry man with a six pack in Ghajini. Having worked with many of the top directors in Kollywood, Suriya has carved a niche for himself. Being one of the crowd's favourite also helps him from being cheered by the audience regardless of age. His first Bollywood movie Rattha Charithiram is another movie which has proved his weight as an actor. 7aam Arivu? Wait, wait....

4. VIJAY

Arguably one of the best dancers among the current actors of the industry, Vijay's achievements are not alien to any. Continuing to enthrall audiences with his dancing skills and histrionics, he is liked my people from all walks of life and professions. He has the composure to take everything in his own stride. Though Kavalan is yet to be released, his fans are already talking about his next movie Velayudham. Hmm...

5. AJITH

An actor and an avid racer, Ajith is regarded by his fans as a calm person who is ready to please them through his movies. His movie Billa was a talking point in Kollywood for a while and Ajith showed his other face by helping with the screenplay of his movie Asal. With Mankatha, his 50th movie, in the news every day, his fans cannot wait to see their favourite hero on the silver screen.

6. VIKRAM

Another actor who likes to experiment with his looks and style if the movie demands, Vikram is another actor who can draw audience by sheer screen presence. With movies like Pithamagan, Anniyan and the more recent Raavanan proving his acting skills, it is little wonder that he got a lot of International recognition this year. With his next movie in production stages, Vikram would be excited to present himself before his fans.

7. DHANUSH

Dhanush is known to people as yet another actor who can dance effortlessly. Having acted in a serious movie like Polladhavan, he changed track and made the crowd go in splits with movies like Yaaradi Nee Mohini and Padikathavan. Uthama Puthiran showed his crowd-pleasing skills yet again. With his next movie Aadukalam making people notice with its music, his fans cannot wait to see what the Vetrimaran-Dhanush combination has to offer this time around.

8. KARTHI

He makes people go berserk when he says "Yenna mama sowkiyama", on stage. Karthi is fast emerging as one of people's favourites by acting in movies like Paiyaa and Naan Mahaan Alla. Having had a good 2010, Karthi must be banking heavily on his forthcoming movie Siruthai.

9. STR

If STR was seen on the silver screen mostly as an angry youngster or as an action hero, VTV changed this completely. Karthik and Jesse scripted a new chapter of love in Kollywood and showcased STR as a subtle actor. Busy ever since, he would be thrilled with his forthcoming releases Vaanam, Poda Podi and Vettai Mannan.

10. ARYA

He stunned people with his Agori avatar in Naan Kadavul. He made them feel for him in Madarapattinam and he had them in total splits in Boss engira Baskaran. Another of today's actors who is keen on showing variety, he is the toast of the younger generation with his cool looks in the latest movie Chikku Bukku. With Avan Ivan, directed by Bala, in the pipeline, Arya would be expecting to deliver what his fans expect.

11. JEYAM RAVI

Having acted mostly in romantic movies, Jeyam Ravi broke this image in the movie Peranmai, in which he acted as a tough NCC officer. Being touted as one of the many actors liked by family audiences, Jeyam Ravi's role in Thillalangadi is being praised by many. With Prabhu Deva's Engeyum Kadhal and Ameer's Aadhi Bhagavan in the pipeline, Jeyam Ravi is expecting to have a power-packed 2011.

12. VISHAL

The Tall-Dark-Handsome hero, as he is called by his fans, has acted in memorable movies in the past. His acting in Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai was well received in 2010. Acting in director Bala's movie Avan Ivan should be a learning experience for this talented actor who is also busy with his next movie under Prabhu Deva's direction.

13. JIIVA

Jiiva belongs to the latest generation of actors who display a lot of variety in terms of movies they act in. If Ram, E and Katradhu Tamizh proved his ability to enact serious roles, SMS and other such movies showed glimpses of him being a mass-entertainer. Having been low-key for a while, Jiiva is raring to roar in Singam Puli and in Ko.

14. BHARATH

Bob Kaly of Boys became the cynosure of everyone's eyes when Kaadhal got released. Pattiyal, Veyil and other movies proved his ability to carry a role on his shoulders with ease. He would be eagerly awaiting his next movie Vaanam, where he shares screen with Simbhu.

15. MADHAVAN

He may have been in the industry for 14 years but Madhavan is still referred to, by many, as the chocolate-boy hero. He has shown a flair for acting in different roles and languages too. After a spine-chilling performance in Yaavarum Nalam, he is all sent to take you on a cruise ride in Manmadhan Ambu.

16. PRITHVIRAJ

With a distinct Tamil accent, Prithviraj is one of the few actors who have proved his mettle in Kollywood after acting predominantly in other languages. His performances in Mozhi, Abhiyum Naanum and the more recent Raavanan are still appreciated by many. He is out to break his niche image with the upcoming multi-lingual movie Urumi, directed by Santhosh Shivan.

17. SHIVA

One of the budding talents in Tamil cinema, Shiva’s unique dialogue delivery is not only liked but imitated by many. This RJ-turned-actor became a solo hero in Thamizh Padam and gave us 'Va' in 2010. It is safe to say that he has his own audience who like his style of acting.

18. JAI

Jai is another actor with a unique dialogue delivery style. His role as Azhagar in the movie Subramaniapuram is still sympathized by many. Also doing the rounds is his performance in Kanimozhi. He would be eagerly expecting his next movie which include Vettai Mannan alongside Simbhu.

19. AADHI

He was hated by many for his 'junglee' character in Mirugam. But Aadhi impressed everyone with an underplayed performance of an investigating police officer in Eeram. The talented actor showed his other face in the recently released Ayyanar and would be banking heavily on his movie with Vasantha Balan which has been titled 'Aravaan'.

20. NAREN

Director Mysskin revealed that Naren is one of his favourite actors just for his dedication. Having made a grand debut in Tamil with Chithiram Pesuthadi, Naren created ripples with a strong performance in Anjathey.
